Sports I'm Into

Image
Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. But now I am! So my top two favorite sports are softball, and surfing. I can also body board, skimboard, SUP, (stand up paddle board,) and I used to do soccer. I can't chose between those first 2, though. So I got into surfing when I went to Living Water Surf School, and I've been really into it sense then. I still need my dad to push me. I've been surfing for like a year and a half.          As you read about the other sports I'm into, you probably noticed they were all water sports. Before I went to surf camp, I just knew how to do a little boogie boarding. I got into water sports after I learned to surf. Softball, however, I've been playing a lot longer. I think I'm slightly better at it, too.          I started with tee ball, then coach pitch, and now I'm just finishing a division the sort of like coach pitch and kid pitch at the same time. I just finished the fall ball...

SCOTLAND

Image
Every kid in my class draws countries out of a hat. Each person would be assigned to write a report on that country. My country was Scotland. Here's my presentation about Scotland: Halo, caraid. ✋That means, "Hello, friend" in Scottish Gaelic. Scotland's Prime Minister is Theresa May. Scotland imports Cattle milk, Barley, and meat. Scotland currency is the Pound Sterling $. Scotland is a part of the United Kingdom. It has recently fought for independence, but was not successful. 2% people work in farming, 20% people work in manufacturing, and 78% people work in services. (That's a lot of services!) Saint Andrew's day is a popular holiday celebrated in Scotland. Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland. Scotland's flag is a white X on a blue back round.                                                                 ...

Awesome Saturday

Today was great. I went to the Girl's Strawberry Patch and had a lot fun. There aren't any strawberries right now but it's still fun to eat there and watch the animals outside. But when there are strawberries to pick, it's really entertaining. They've got talking birds, rubber duck racing, mining for rocks and gem stones, and the restaurant's got countless goodies, treats, ice-cream, and snacks to munch on! It's such a fun, creative, and old fashioned place to go! Earlier in the day we had gone to softball. We play for the Locals. Since my Dad is the coach, I was able to come up with the team name! The LHP Locals! I made a bunch of great plays if do say so my self. (Which I do)

I Want to be a Surfer

Image
I love surfing. I really want to become a pro  surfer when I grow up. It just feels so good when you get on a wave and just ride it! I really enjoy skateboarding, skimboarding, bodyboarding,  paddle boarding basically all board sports! I was so scared to do it at first. But then, when I tried it, I couldn't stop! A lot of times in my life when I'm scared to do something, I do it and I end up loving it! Anyway, I've started surfing pretty recently and I'm not REALLY good yet. But I do believe in practice. Love, Ellie 🏄🏻‍♀️🏄🏻

My Favorite Books📗

Some of my favorite books are listed here. Enjoy! One of my favorite books of all time is The Thing About Jellyfish. It's about a smart girl named Susie Swanson. She just can't figure out how her best friend died so soon. Figure out what happens in Ali Benjamin's novel! Another great book is Hoot. Roy Eberhardt's family has moved multiple times and attended many schools. He's used to being the new kid and all that jazz. It wasn't until Roy saw the barefoot running boy that he realized  life in Florida was finally looking up. Read Carl Hiassen's hilarious novel to find out what happens! Are you female child looking for new crafts to do, fun games to play, and love playing practical jokes? Then this book is for you! Read The Great Big Glorious Book for Girls by Rosemary Davidson and Sarah Vine! Every girl loves dolls, so how about learning how they're made! Read Jess Brown's The...

People in Haiti

Today at school we learned about kids in Haiti who have very little water, unsteady shelters, and sometimes no food. We watched a video about a girl living in Haiti. Her house wasn't very well put together. It was really sad. I don't think it's fair how we have a nice house, clean water, and enough food to eat when those people in Haiti don't have any of that stuff. Sometimes they have to eat something called Mud Cookies. They seem terrible. It's basically just dried mud with very little salt in  it. It isn't very nutritious. It just keeps people from having stomach pains. Thankfully, this family has a better house and little electricity in there home now. They also have clean water, more food and education. But seeing that video about them in that old shaky house makes me very upset. It just wasn't fair.

Getting Used to My Blog

My blog is called 3 little buttons because I am one of three siblings. I am the oldest, my sister Sarah Kate is in the middle, and Charlie is the youngest. But why buttons?  My sister's nick name is Buttons Mugillacudi. I'm pretty sure that      it used to be Buttons Mugiless,  but she says it's always been Mugillacudi. I'm probably mention some of my favorite books, surfing, softball and more! Like I said, I'm still getting used to my blog.  Love, Ellie
